OA_USER Setup menu

The OA_USER Setup menu contains the following KM-specific menu commands:

Command

Description

Annotation

Allows you to select which parameters of OA_USER are to be annotated if they are in WARN or ALARM state. The default is not to annotate, regardless of the state of the parameters.

Concurrent User Licenses

Sets the number of concurrent user licenses purchased. The license check is disabled by default. The license check is enabled or disabled by using the Setup > Enable/Disable License Check menu command. The PATROL KM monitors licenses using the Oracle Named User Licensing.

Enable/Disable License Check

Enables or disables the Oracle Applications concurrent user license check. The license check is disabled by default. When the value of the NumAppUser parameter exceeds the number of user licenses, which is set using the Setup > Concurrent User Licenses menu command, and the License Check is enabled, the KM displays a dialog box to report the license violation.

License Type

Toggle between Name license and Session license. The license management is based on two different types of license, Name License or Session License. By Name License, the user license number is determined by the user name. Logon sessions with the same application user name share the same license. By Session License, the user license number is determined by the number of logon sessions. Each user logon session is counted as one session license.

Scale Data Collection

Allows you to select which options (optional parameters) are to be monitored. If there are some parameters that you are not interested in, you can exclude them from monitoring, thus saving CPU cycles.

Selected Users

Accesses the following menu commands:

  • Add
  • View/Delete

Top Users

Allows users to select how many top users they want to monitor and the criteria used for selecting top users. The default is 10 users. The possible choices of criteria are CPU Usage, Memory Usage, Network Usage, User Error Count, Transaction Rate, and Number of Sessions.

User Sessions

Accesses the following menu commands:

  • Exclude/Re-include Users – enables you to exclude privileged users from multi-session monitoring.
  • Set Session Threshold – enables you to set the number of logon sessions a user can have before the user is recorded as a multi-session user. The out-of-box setting is 10 logon sessions.
