Setting the statistics polling interval
BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite enables you to change the number of minutes between data collections for all the collectors under OA_SYSTEM. OA_SYSTEM contains all of the Collector parameters, which include the following:
- CollAlert
- CollApplications
- CollApplProcess
- CollApplUser
- CollAvailability
- CollConcurrentMgr
- CollConcurrentReq
- CollDatabase
- CollFormsServer
- CollMetricsClient
- CollMetricsServer
- CollOSPerformance
- CollWebServer
Use the following procedure to change the polling interval for any collector under OA_SYSTEM.
- On the UNIX console, from the main PATROL map window, select ATTRIBUTES > APPLICATION CLASSES > OA_SYSTEM > PARAMETERS, and select the parameter whose polling interval you want to change.
On the NT console, within the KM tab, select APPLICATION CLASSES > OA_SYSTEM > GLOBAL > PARAMETERS, and and select the parameter whose polling interval you want to change. - Change the scheduling for the parameter, and save the change to the KM. To make the change permanent, COMMIT KM to record the change on the agent.
The scheduling change will be activated upon the next discovery cycle. - To force data collection for the NT console, select Refresh Parameters from the computer icon.
For the UNIX console, select ATTRIBUTES > APPLICATION CLASSES > OA_SYSTEM. Right-click the Collector parameter and select UPDATE. This will update the collector immediately.
