Updating passwords set during configuration

Special menu commands enable you to update passwords that you entered during the configuration of BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite. The following accounts can be updated:

  • Oracle Applications database account
  • PATROL Agent account on middle-tier server host
Using these menu commands after a password has been changed eliminates the need to reconfigure instances.

This topic contains the following information:

To update the Oracle Applications database password

  1. From the DB_STATUS (OA_DBSTATUS) menu, select Update Apps Account.
The Update Account dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a current user name and password, then click Accept.
    The new settings are applied.

To update the BMC PATROL Agent password for a middle-tier server host

  1. From the hostName (OA_OS) menu, select PATROL Account Update.
The Update Account dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a current user name and password, then click Accept.
    The new settings are applied.

    Note

If the selected computer (operating system instance) icon represents the local (central) host, this menu command changes the password of PATROL in pconfig. In such a case, you must reinitialize (or stop and then start) the local agent so that it will pick up the password change.
