Loading BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite

After installing and migrating BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite, you need to load and deploy BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite into your PATROL environment. If desired, you can make the BMC PATROL Agents on the monitored hosts preload BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite.

To monitor and manage your Oracle Applications environment, you must load the files for BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite into the PATROL Console.

Before you begin

  • You must use a PATROL Console in developer mode to install the PATROL KM, but if you preloaded the PATROL KM, the console is not required to monitor your environment.
  • The BMC PATROL Agent must have already been started on the database server.

To load the PATROL KM

  1. Select File > Load KM... from the PATROL Console menu bar. A list of available PATROL Knowledge Modules for your site appears.
  2. Select the .kml file you want to load from the list:
    • To load BMC PATROL for UNIX, select UNIX3.kml.
    • To load BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite, select OA_LST.kml.
    • To load BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite Probe, select OA_Probe_LST.kml.
  3. Click OK.
    When the PATROL KM is loaded, PATROL enters into a discovery phase. In the discovery phase, on the console PATROL searches for agent side of BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite on the host. After the agent side has been found, the main application icon appears.

If an error occurs

All error messages appear in the system output window. If the Oracle Application environment is not discovered by PATROL, use the following checklist to confirm the installation and loading:

  • Is the hostname and BMC PATROL Agent port number correct?
  • Is the BMC PATROL Agent started and running on the database server (host)?
  • Are you using a Console in developer mode to load the KM?
  • If the host connection was broken, consider increasing the Message Retries and Message Time Out values in the Computer Icon Properties tab.
  • Consider unloading BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite and reloading it.
