Configuring middle-tier servers
After setting up an Application ID, PATROL will monitor the desktop client tier and the database tier. If you are running a three-tier configuration, you can set up the application server tiers to be monitored as well.
The PATROL KM will not discover the application classes under the OA_APPSERV application class until you configure the server information for each application tier.
In order to monitor a middle-tier server, you must provide BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite with information about the PATROL Agent residing on the server host, using the following procedure: Adding-middle-tier-server-hosts.
In addition to adding the server host information, you must also provide information about the middle-tier servers themselves. Depending on the type of middle-tier server you want to configure, proceed to one of the following sections:
Web server setup
If you are using Oracle Applications versions 10.7 or 11.0.x, you will configure the Oracle Web Server. If you are using Oracle Applications version 11i or later, you will configure the Apache Server.
Multiple middle-tier servers
Only one type of middle-tier server can be configured per PATROL Agent. However, you can configure more than one middle-tier server on the same computer, with one PATROL Agent, if the servers are of different types (such as a forms server and a web server).
