Upgrading and preserving KM customizations

Use the appropriate task in this section if you want to upgrade to the later version of BMC PATROL for Oracle WebLogic and you want to preserve any customizations you have made to the .km files in your current version of BMC PATROL for Oracle WebLogic.

You must first migrate your customizations from your current version of BMC PATROL for Oracle WebLogic to the later version, and then install the result into your environment. You must complete this process on a limited number of computers in the test environment first, test the merged KMs thoroughly, and then deploy them to your production environment.

Note

To upgrade and preserve customizations, you must migrate your customizations manually, use the PATROL migration tools version 3.5 or later, or use the Distribution Server. If you are using the Distribution Server, ensure that you have the latest version of the Distribution Server installed as well as any available patches.
