Subscribing to a ULOG-Based Event
Perform the following task to subscribe to an event in ULOG-based notification mode. When a matching event is detected, the event will be logged in the user log (ULOG) file.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have completed the following items:
- Installed the PATROL Agent and Console and have them running
- Loaded and configured the PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo
To Subscribe to a Command-Based Event
- Right-click the BEATUX_EVENT application icon.
- Choose KM Commands > Subscribe Event > ULOG-based.
The Event Broker Subscription dialog box appears.
- Complete the Event Broker Subscription dialog box as follows:
- In Event Expression, enter the event pattern expression; this expression controls which event names match this subscription. For example, if you wanted to be notified of all events related to Tuxedo networking, the event expression would be "\.SysNetwork*". To subscribe to all events with a severity level of ERROR, the event expression would be "\.(ERR|err)\.*".
- In Event Filter, enter a filter against which the event will be matched; if the filter conditions are met, the event will be passed to the Event Broker.
- In ULOG Message, enter the message to be stored in ULOG when a matching event is detected.
- Click Accept to subscribe to the event.
