Managing Tuxedo Events with Expert Advice

Use the PATROL Event Manager to monitor subscribed Tuxedo events and to receive expert advice about warning or alarm conditions.

The PATROL Event Manager (PEM) is a powerful feature of every PATROL Console. Using the Event Manager, you can view and manage various types of events--everything from disk failures to stopped critical processes. You can define the behavior of events for your system, establishing recovery actions, or you can use diary features to log events.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have completed the following items:

  • Installed the PATROL Agent and Console and have them running
  • Loaded and configured the PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo

To Monitor Tuxedo Events with the PATROL Event Manager

  1. Right-click a Tuxedo icon.

    Tip

If you want to monitor all system-wide events (not just Tuxedo events), then start the PATROL Event Manager from a Console menu command. Use Tools > Event Manager in a Windows NT Console or View > Event Manager in a Unix Console.

  2. Choose Event Manager.
