Initiating a ULOG Query


Perform the following task to initiate a detailed query of the User Log (ULOG).

Before you begin

Ensure that you have completed the following items:

  • Installed the PATROL Agent and Console and have them running
  • Loaded and configured the PATROL KM for Tuxedo

To Initiate a Quick ULOG Search

  1. Right-click the BEATUX_SYSTEM application icon.
  2. Choose KM Commands > Reports > ULOG Query.
     The ULOG Query dialog box appears.

  3. To query a particular item, select one of the following check boxes and enter a value in the field:
    • Datethe date (in ddmmyy format) of the records you wish to view

      Data entered in this field is used for the Tuxedo T_ULOG MIB class TA_MMDDYY attribute. For more information about Year 2000 compliance of Oracle Tuxedo Software, please see http://www.beasys.com.

    • Start Timethe starting time (in hhmmss format) of the records you wish to view
    • End Timethe ending time (in hhmmss format) of the records you wish to view
    • Logical Machinethe machine name to view records for a particular logical machine
    • Physical Machinethe machine name to view records for a particular physical machine
    • Message Patternthe pattern (using wild cards as necessary) to view records containing particular words or sequence of numbers
    • Severitythe severity level of the records you wish to view
    • Catalog Namethe catalog name to view records for a particular catalog
    • Catalog Numbera catalog number to view records for that catalog number
    • Process Namethe process name to view records for a particular process
    • Max Output Recordsthe maximum number of records you wish to view; a positive number is for the number of record counts from the beginning of the file; a negative number is for the last number of the record
  4. Click Accept to begin the query.

You are ready to monitor the configured Tuxedo environment.
