Setting the Tuxedo Group and Server Monitoring Mode

Perform the following task to set the Tuxedo group and server monitoring mode.

PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo has the following modes for monitoring Tuxedo groups and servers:

  • "all Tuxedo groups and servers" which lets you monitor all Tuxedo groups and servers. After this option is selected, PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo detects and monitors these groups and servers only after the group discovery parameter groupDisc and the server discovery parameter _serverDisc run.
  • "system servers and user selected servers only" which lets you monitor only system servers such as BBL, DBBL, and TMSYSEVT and any other groups and servers that you explicitly select to be monitored. By default, this mode monitors only system servers BBL, DBBL, and TMSYSEVT.

Note

BMC Software recommends that, when monitoring large Tuxedo environments, you select the system servers and user selected servers only monitoring mode.

The selected mode is saved in the PATROL Agent configuration file and is effective even after the PATROL Agent is reinitialized.
