Scheduling Blackout Periods
Perform the following task to specify one or more blackout periods to temporarily suspend warnings and alarms or to remove (delete) a currently defined blackout period. During blackout periods, PATROL continues to monitor the Tuxedo server environment but does not report object state changes nor generate warnings or alarms. This feature is useful for scheduled maintenance and planned system downtime.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have completed the following items:
- Installed the PATROL Agent and Console and have them running
- Loaded and configured the PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo
To Schedule a Blackout Period
- Right-click the BEATUX_MANAGEMENT application icon.
- Choose KM Commands > Blackout Domain on Schedule.
The Schedule Blackout Periods dialog box appears.
- Complete the Schedule Blackout Period dialog box as follows:
- Select Add a Blackout Period.
- In Blackout Start Time, select the day of the week and time that you want to begin blackout:
- click the day of the week on which you want the blackout period to begin
use the arrow keys to select the hour, click the minutes or seconds field and type a value on the keypad to enter more precise times
- In Blackout Duration, set the duration to the length of time you want the blackout to last:
- type a number in the field
- use the pull-down list to choose the units (the default is hours)
- Click Apply.
To Delete a Blackout Period
- Right-click the BEATUX_MANAGEMENT application icon.
- Choose KM Commands > Blackout Domain on Schedule.
The Schedule Blackout Periods dialog box appears. - Complete the Schedule Blackout Period dialog box as follows:
- Select Delete Blackout Period(s).
- In Blackout period(s) to delete, highlight the period to be deleted from the selection list.
- Click Apply.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
