Creating an Application Queue


Perform the following task to add an application queue to a queue space.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have completed the following items:

  • Installed the PATROL Agent and Console and have them running
  • Loaded and configured the PATROL for Oracle Tuxedo

To Create an Application Queue

  1. Right-click the BEATUX_MANAGEMENT application icon.
  2. Choose KM Commands > Queue Management > Create Application Queue.
     The Create App. Queue dialog box appears. 

  3. Complete the Create App. Queue dialog box as follows:
    • In Device Name, select from the pull-down list the location of the device for this queue space.
    • In Queue Space Name, enter the name you wish to assign this queue space.
    • In App. Queue Name, enter the name you wish to assign this application queue.
    • In Queue Ordering, enter the order in which messages in the queue are to be processed.
    • In Out of Order Queuing, enter the method in which out-of-order messaging is to be handled
    • In Retries, enter the maximum number of retries for a failed queue message.
    • In Retry Delay, enter the delay in seconds between retries.
    • In Q. Cap. Warning, enter the units (key letters) for high and low water marks.
    • In High Limit, enter the high water mark of messages in the queue.
    • In Low Limit, enter the low water mark of messages in the queue.
    • In Queue Command, enter the command to be automatically executed when the high water mark is reached.
  4. Click OK to create the application queue.
