Product overview
PATROL for Oracle Enterprise Database enables you to monitor and manage the availability and performance of resources in an Oracle environment. It provides visual warnings and alarms when thresholds are exceeded, and allows an easy identification of the problem. The monitoring tool is designed for remote monitoring using a certified JDBC connector provided by Oracle. The KM provides full support for TrueSight components. The KM provides availability metrics for different Oracle architectures and some performance metrics for certain areas, such as space management, buffers, and sessions. Database can be configured on the following environments:
- Oracle Standalone
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle Real Application Cluster or Real Application Cluster One Node Database
- Oracle Automatic Storage Management
PATROL for Oracle Enterprise Database includes the Java Runtime Environment process and matrix that the BMC PATROL console or TrueSight console use for system monitoring and analysis activities. Those matrices include availability and statistic parameters that report on the status of an Oracle standalone local or remote instance database.
