Configuration Variables


Use this section to manage configuration variables for Oracle monitoring policies.

To add a configuration variable

  1. On the Monitor Policies page, click Configuration and select Monitor Policies.
  2. Click the action menu of the policy that you want to modify and select Edit .
  3. In the Configuration Variables tab, click Add Configuration Variable.
  4. On the Add Configuration Variable page, in the Variable field, enter the variable path and name.
    For example, /KOE/Oracle/waitTimeCollector.
  5. Select the required Operation.
    • REPLACE: Create a new variable by using the REPLACE operation.
    • DELVAR: Deletes the variable and disables the task for which you created it. The value is deleted after you save the policy.
    • DELETE: Sets the variable value to an empty string. The value is deleted after you save the policy.
  6. In the Value field, enter the value of the variable.
    If you do not enter a value, the default value of the variable is used.

KOE/Oracle/isTopNQueriesSelectedEnables or disables the filter for top n queries by total wait time.
Set this to 1 to enable.
Set this to 0 to disable. 
/KOE/Oracle/topNqueryLimitSets the number of queries to filter. 
The default value is 15. The valid input range is 1-100.
/KOE/Oracle/maxQueryInstancesSets the value for the maximum number of query instances to filter. 
The default value is 1000. The valid input range is 1-2500.

/KOE/Oracle/maxQueryDays

Sets the number of days to keep the query instance. 
The default value is 15 days. The valid input range is from 1-60 days.

/KOE/Oracle/waitTimeCollector

Sets the collection time for the wait time query attributes. This field is applicable for query instances attributes only.
The default value is 300 seconds. The valid input range is from 300-3600 seconds.

/KOE/Oracle/isVaultEnabled

Enables or disables the use of a password from the vault at the global level. 

Set this variable to 1 to enable the use of a password from the vault at the global level.

Set this variable to 0 to disable the use of a password from the vault at the global level.

/KOE/Oracle/<Monitor_TYPE>/isVaultEnabled

Enables or disables the use of a password from the vault for the specified monitor type.

Set this to 1 to enable the use of a password from the vault for the specified monitor type.

Set this to 0 to disable the use of a password from the vault for the specified monitor type.

Applicable monitor types include Standalone, DataGuard, ASM, and RAC.

/KOE/Oracle/<Monitor_TYPE>/<ENVIRONMENT_NAME>/isVaultEnabled

Enables or disables the use of a password from the vault for the specified environment configured in the monitoring policy. 

Set this to 1 to enable the use of a password from the vault for the specified environment configured in the monitoring policy.

Set this to 0 to disable the use of a password from the vault for the specified environment configured in the monitoring policy.

/KOE/Oracle/<Monitor_TYPE>/<ENVIRONMENT_NAME>/<HOST>|<PORT>|<SID>/isVaultEnabled

Enables or disables the use of a password from the vault for the specified database instance. 

Set this to 1 to enable the use of a password from the vault for the specified database instance.

Set this to 0 to disable the use of a password from the vault for the specified database instance.

/KOE/Oracle/keepInstance

Enables or disables the retention of an Oracle RAC instance in the monitored environment at the global level (across all monitor types and environments) when the host node of the Oracle RAC instance is not detected during the discovery cycle.

Set the variable to 1 or 0 in the monitor policy as follows:

  • 1—Ensures that an Oracle RAC instance remains in the monitored environment even if the node is down or not available during the discovery cycle. The related alert also remains active.
  •  0—Removes the instance from the monitored environment if the node is down during the discovery cycle. The associated alert is also cleared.
/KOE/Oracle/<Monitor_TYPE>/keepInstance

Enables or disables the retention of Oracle RAC instances for a specific monitor type when the host nodes of the Oracle RAC instances are not detected during the discovery cycle.

Set the variable to 1 or 0 in the monitor policy as follows:

  • 1- Ensures that an Oracle RAC instance remains in the monitored environment even if the node is down or not available during the discovery cycle. The related alert also remains active.
  • 0- Removes the instance from the monitored environment if the node is down during the discovery cycle. The associated alert is also cleared.
/KOE/Oracle//<Monitor_TYPE>/<ENVIRONMENT_NAME>/keepInstance

Enables or disables the retention of Oracle RAC instances within a specific environment under a given monitor type when the host nodes of the Oracle RAC instances are not detected during the discovery cycle.

Set the variable to 1 or 0 in the monitor policy as follows:

  • 1- Ensures that an Oracle RAC instance remains in the monitored environment even if the node is down or not available during the discovery cycle. The related alert also remains active.
  • 0- Removes the instance from the monitored environment if the node is down during the discovery cycle. The associated alert is also cleared.

 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
