Oracle Standby Data Guard


This topic provides information about configuring the Oracle Standby Data Guard Instance by using TrueSight console.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Oracle Standby Data Guard, and the Monitor Type set to Oracle Standby Data Guard, provide the following details:

Standby Instance Monitoring Configuration

Standby Data Guard Instance Information

Standby Data Guard Instance Name

Specify the standby data guard instance name.

Standby Data Guard Instance Home

Specify the standby data guard home directory.

Standby Instance Account Credentials

User Name

Enter the username with SYSDBA privilege to connect to the data guard instance.

Password

Enter the password to connect to the data guard instance.

Note

If the database user password contains special characters, specify the password within the double quotes. Example: “%BMC$"

Confirm Password

Re-type the database instance password.

Add to List

To add the configured Standby instance to the list of Standby instances, click the button.

Modify Selection

To modify a configured Standby instance, from the list of Standby instances, click the button.

Remove from List

To remove a configured Standby instance, from the list of Standby instances, click the button.

Standby Data Guard Debug Option

Select the check box to enable the debugging of the Standby Data Guard instance configuration.

Oracle Standby Alert Log Filters

Exclude error log strings

Enter the list of strings that you want to exclude from monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Include error log strings

Enter the list of strings that you want to include in monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
