Oracle   Listeners


This topic provides information about configuring the Oracle Listeners by using Central Monitoring Administration.

Note

When trying to configure remote listeners monitoring manually, the TrueSight console fails to add multiple listeners running on different hosts with the same name.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Oracle Listeners, and the Monitor Type set to Oracle Listeners, provide the following details:

Oracle Listener Configuration

Listener name

Specify the Oracle listener name.

Listener home

Specify the listener home directory.

Listener host

Specify the listener host. If you want to edit the host, delete the old listener and add a new one.

If the listener is part of a cluster, check if the listener uses physical host name, cluster alias, or logical host name in the listener.ora file. 

If the listener is local and non-clustered and uses a logical host name instead of the Agent host name, enter the logical host name.

Listener is local

Select this check-box, if the listener is local.

Oracle Listener Information

Listener name

Specify the Oracle listener name. It is composed of {host}${Listener Name}.

Oracle Listener Services Exclusion

Note

You can only select one filtering option in order from the top to down ( Include all has highest precedence).

If you select Include All, then the entries in the other fields will be ignored.

Include All

Select this check-box to include all listeners.

Inactive Services List

Specify the inactive service list (separated with commas), the services will be filtered out from monitoring

RegEx filter

Specify the regular expression to filter out the listener services from monitoring.

For example: Using regex ^ORA.*

All the services that starts with ORA will be removed. For more information, see RegEx expression.

Oracle Listener Alert Log Filters

Exclude error log strings

Specify the list of strings that you want to exclude from monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Include error log strings

Specify the list of strings that you want to include in monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Listener Debug Option

Listener debug

Select this check-box to enable debugging.
