Oracle Automatic Storage Management


This topic provides information about configuring the Automatic Storage Management Instance (ASM) by using Central Monitoring Administration.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Oracle Automatic Storage Management, and the Monitor Type set to Oracle ASM, provide the following details:

ASM Instance Monitoring Configuration

ASM Instance Information

ASM instance name

Specify the ASM instance name.

ASM instance home

Specify the ASM home directory.

ASM Instance Monitoring Account Credentials

User Name

Specify the ASM instance monitoring user name.

Note

User can be an user with SYSASM privilege.


Password

Specify the ASM instance monitoring password.

Note

If the database user password contains special characters, specify the password within the double quotes. Example: “%BMC$”

Confirm Password

Re-type the ASM instance monitoring password.

ASM Monitoring Account Creation

Privileged Account Credentials

User Name

Specify the ASM instance privileged user name.

Note

ASM Privilege user must be a SYS user.

Password

Specify the ASM instance privileged password.

Note

Confirm Password

Re-type the ASM instance privileged password.

ASM Debug Option

ASM debug

Select the check box to enable the debugging of the ASM instance configuration.

Exclude error log strings

Specify the list of strings that you want to exclude from monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Include error log strings

Specify the list of strings that you want to include in monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

 

 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
