 24.2.10

Enable OAuth authentication for enhanced security

An OAuth authentication type is added to securely connect to the OpenShift cluster, enabling seamless and authorized access to the resources.  The system automatically refreshes the OAuth token before expiration to maintain continuous monitoring.

For more information, see Configuring OpenShift monitor type.

24.2

Monitor the cluster node performance metrics

A Helix Monitor Agent has been developed and seamlessly integrated with the PATROL for OpenShift KM. This integration allows installation within an OpenShift cluster by using Helm chart. After installation, the Helm chart will instantiate a daemonset for each node, enabling performance data collection for individual cluster nodes.

The OpenShift KM will also discover other topologies, like projects, workloads, pods, and containers.

For more information, see Using BMC Helix Monitor Agent to collect data.

Discover OpenShift cluster entities automatically

If you are using Helix Monitor Agent, the OpenShift KM can automatically detect OpenShift cluster entities by using a service account token.

For more information, see Configuring-OpenShift-monitor-type.

Utilization of Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs)

A utilization metric for Persistent Volume Claims is available. This metric enables effective monitoring of the persistent volume claim's utilization.

For more information, see System-requirements and OpenShift Persistent Volume Claims.

Get improved device mapping options for OpenShift cluster nodes

The device mapping options for OpenShift cluster nodes have been enhanced. This improvement optimizes device mapping.

For more information, see Configuring-OpenShift-monitor-type.
