Monitoring capabilities

PATROL for OpenShift monitors the following OpenShift entities:

  • Nodes
  • Projects
  • Cluster Operators
  • Controllers
  • Pods

Provides a summary of cluster health (CPU and memory utilization) and resources (pods, nodes, projects). For more information, see Monitor-types-and-attributes.

Utility to plan monitoring and confirm the OpenShift connection

The KM provides a utility that verifies the connection with your OpenShift environment and provides the number of nodes, projects, pods, and containers that can be monitored. The utility is a proactive resource to ensure uninterrupted monitoring results. Use the utility to effectively plan the monitoring of your environment. For more information, see Pre-requisites-to-configure-OpenShift-monitor-type.

Policy to configure monitoring

Create a policy where you provide OpenShift connection details and the entities that you want to monitor. You can also use the policy to perform the following actions:

  • Filter the projects for monitoring
  • Enable device mapping and logs for the KM

For more information, see Configuring-OpenShift-monitor-type.
