System requirements

This topic lists the minimum requirements and supported resources for BMC PATROL for Nutanix.

Support for third-party products

To receive full support for a BMC product, you must have that product installed in a supported environment, as specified in the BMC product documentation. If a third-party vendor cancels support for one of its products (such as an operating system or subsystem), and that third-party product integrates or interacts with the BMC product you have licensed, you must upgrade to a supported version of that third-party product before BMC Customer Support can provide you with support for the affected BMC product. Before installing or configuring BMC PATROL for Nutanix, make sure that the following prerequisites are met:

  • The Prism Central endpoint: The Knowledge Module (KM) connects to Prism Central via Nutanix REST APIs to discover Nutanix clusters, hosts, VMs, and Storage pools. You must provide the full Prism Central connection and authentication details in the monitor policy.

  • User account with the Prism Viewer role: Monitoring Nutanix requires a user account with Prism Viewer permissions. This role grants the KM read-only access to retrieve Nutanix metrics via the Prism Central REST APIs, while ensuring the KM cannot perform any administrative or configuration changes in the Nutanix environment.

Supports any of the following Java versions:

  • OpenJDK 11.x
  • OpenJDK  16.x
  • OpenJDK  23.x

BMC Helix Operations Management 

The KM is supported by BMC Helix Operations Management. 

PATROL Agent 

  • PATROL Agent version: 20.08 and above
  • PATROL Installation Utility version: 20.02 and above
