Configuring MongoDB monitor type

This topic provides information about configuring the MongoDB monitor type by using the Central Monitoring Administration. The MongoDB monitor type is used to monitor the MongoDB database computers. The MongoDB monitor type can be configured to monitor the MongoDB database MongoS parameters, MongoDB cluster parameters, and the replica set member parameters.

Configuring the MongoDB monitor type

In the Add Monitor Types dialog box, with the Monitoring Profile set to MongoDB Monitoring, and the Monitor Type set to MongoDB, provide the following details:

MongoDB Configuration

Field

Description

MongoDB Environment

Enter the name for the MongoDB database environment.

Host Name

Enter the host name or IP number that you want to monitor.

Port Number

Enter the port number of the instance that you want to monitor.

Excluded DBs

Enter the MongoDB databases that you want to be excluded from monitoring. Separate the databases by using semicolon (;), comma (,), or space.

Use authentication

Field

Description

User name

Enter the user name to connect to the database.

After you have added the details of a MongoDB environment,

  • Click Add to List to confirm the configuration information that you have provided.
  • Select one of the items that you added to the list in the preceding step, and click Modify Selection to modify the details.
  • Select the items added earlier and click Remove from list to delete that item from the list of configured objects and to clear the details provided in the earlier fields.

After you have configured the MongoDB environments,

  • Click Add to save the monitoring configuration. After you click this option you can continue to add more objects for monitoring.
  • Click Reset to clear your configuration details and revert to the default settings.
