Windows Event Log Files (NT_EVLOGFILES)


By default, enables you to monitor and manage Windows event logs.

Note

The Windows Event Log Files monitor type in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the NT_EVENTLOG application class in BMC PATROL.

The NT_EVLOGFILES application class icons are displayed in the NT_EVENTLOG window. The NT_EVLOGFILES application window contains the icons for the NT_EVINSTS application class which displays all instances defined for that event log.

NT_EVLOGFILES has the following three instances:

  • Event log application: Event Log Application instance monitors the application event log. 
  • Event log security :Event Log Security instance monitors the security event log. 
  • Event log system : The Event Log System instance monitors the system event log.

The following information is displayed on the NT_EVLOGFILES InfoBox:

Icon type

the type of icon selected (computer, application, container, parameter)

State

the current state of the object

Application class

name of the application class

Default user name

the default PATROL user name, if any

Worst parameter

the name of the application parameter that is having the most problems, if any; if more than one parameter is in a warning or an alarm, the parameter with the most severe problems is shown

History retention

the length of time history is retained

NT KM version

the version of the PATROL KM for Windows OS currently in use
