Processor Queue Length (SYSsysProcessorQueueLength)
Displays the length of the processor queue in number of threads.
This parameter is inactive by default. You can activate this parameter from the PATROL Console KM tab.
Recommendations
- If the queue length is consistently greater than two: The processor is probably congested. You may want to consider adding processors to the system or upgrading to a machine with faster processors.
- If the queue length is consistently greater than four to eight: You should also check CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent to see if processor utilization is consistently at 100 percent, which may indicate a poorly behaved process that is not releasing system resources properly.
