Configure Recovery Action - Restart Service dialog box
Use the Configure Recovery Action dialog box to configure the recovery action that re-starts a monitored service. This recovery action is scheduled to run automatically when the Service Status (ServiceStatus) parameter enters an alarm state.
Access this dialog box by navigating to the KM menu of the host application as described in Accessing-KM-menu-commands and clicking Configure Recovery Action. For a description of the fields on the dialog box, see the following table:
Items on this dialog box
Item | Description |
Recovery Action | The name of the recovery action |
Parameter Name | The parameter that is associated with the recovery action. The parameter is shown in the following format: If the parameter name contains an asterisk (*), the recovery action configuration settings apply to the application class or application class instance and thus, these settings are inherited by the recovery actions at the lower levels, such as the parameter level. Configure recovery actions at the application level only if you want each recovery action to behave similarly. For example, you may want to use the same criteria to automatically clear and backup event logs, regardless of the event type. If you prefer to use different criteria for each event log, then you would configure each recovery action individually. |
Run automatically | Specifies that the recovery action runs automatically. |
Run only with operator confirmation | Specifies that PATROL prompts you before running the recovery action. |
Do not execute | Specifies that PATROL does not perform the recovery action. |
Suspend Recovery Action | Temporarily pauses the recovery action. When you resume the recovery action (by deselecting this check box), the previous recovery action settings take effect. |
Attended Mode Dialog Timeout | When in Run Attended mode, specifies the amount of time to wait for confirmation to run the recovery action. If confirmation is not provided within the allotted time, PATROL does not run the recovery action. |
Accept | Saves your changes. |
Cancel | Closes the window. |
