Disabling automatic restart of services

By default, PATROL automatically restarts a service that is set to Automatic if it stops. You can disable (and re-enable) the automatic restart of all services.
If you use this procedure to disable automatic restart for all services that are set to Automatic and then, at a later time, re-enable automatic restart, any service restart settings that you previously defined for individual services take effect.

To disable (or re-enbable) the automatic restart of services

  1. From the NT_SERVICES_CONTAINER application instance, choose the KM menu command Disable Automatic Restart.
  2. From the Disable Automatic Restart dialog box, select Yes or No.
  3. To save your changes click OK.

Note

To set specific services to ignore the PATROL automatic restart, you can:

  • Modify the following pconfig variable:

    /PSX_P4WinSrvs/PWKPKMforMSWinOS_config/ServiceMonitoring/ServiceList/Service Name/SvcConfigVars" = {REPLACE = "0,0,0,0,0,1,0,0,0"} and
  • Set the nineth value to 1 through PATROL Configuration Manager.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
