Configuring after installation or upgrade

After you have installed BMC PATROL for Windows Servers, choose one of the following configuration tasks depending on your monitoring environment. In each monitoring environment, you can configure the KM to perform remote monitoring and/or local monitoring of your Windows Servers hosts.

Configuring using Central Monitoring Administration

This section provides information about the monitoring profiles and the associated monitor type available in the BMC PATROL for Windows Servers. It also provides instructions on configuring the monitor type by using the Central Monitoring Administration Console.

Configuring using TrueSight Infrastructure Management 10.5

This section provides information about the monitoring profiles and the associated monitor type available in the BMC PATROL for Windows Servers. It also provides instructions on configuring the monitor type by using the TrueSight Infrastructure Management 10.5. 

Configuring using PATROL Consoles

This section provides instructions for configuring PATROL for Windows Servers components. The PATROL KM for Windows Servers needs no special configuration before it begins collecting data after you load it. However, there are a few configuration options that you might want to set up, depending on the needs of your environment.

After you install BMC PATROL for Oracle, you must load the Knowledge Module (KM) into the BMC PATROL Console and configure the product so that it can obtain parameter data from the BMC PATROL for Oracle.
