Network Protocols (NT_NET_PROTOCOLS)
Serves as a container for the following network protocol KMs:
- NT_ICMP
- NT_IP
- NT_IPX
- NT_NETBEUI
- NT_NETBIOS
- NT_FTP
- NT_TCP
- NT_UDP
To monitor network protocols, you must have the SNMP service installed.
InfoBox
The following information is displayed on the NT_NET_PROTOCOLS InfoBox:
Item | Description |
Icon type | the type of icon selected (computer, application, container, parameter) |
State | the current state of the object |
Application class | name of the application class |
Default user name | the default PATROL user name, if any |
Worst parameter | the name of the application parameter that is having the most problems, if any |
History retention | the length of time history is retained |
NT KM version | the version of the PATROL KM for Windows OS currently in use |

Configuring Network Protocols
This topic provides information about configuring network protocols for monitoring by using Central Monitoring Administration.
On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Network Performance or Operating System, and the Monitor Type set to Network Protocols, provide the following details:
Field | Description |

Exclude Criteria | Specify a comma-separated list of network protocols that you want to exclude from monitoring. For example: IP,TCP,UDP |
Include Criteria | Specify a comma-separated list of network protocols that you want to include for monitoring. For example: IP,TCP,UDP |
Add | Click this option to add this monitoring configuration. This information is displayed on the Monitor Configuration page. After you click this option, you can continue to add more objects for monitoring. |
Reset | Click this option to clear off your configuration details and revert to default settings. |
Close | Click this option to exit without saving any changes. |
