Updates in the 4.7.00.02 patch

The BMC PATROL Knowledge Module (KM) for Microsoft Windows Operating System 4.7.00.02 patch includes the following updates:

  • System Cache Resident Bytes (MEMmemSystemCacheResidentBytes) parameter has been added in this patch. For more details, see System-Cache-Resident-Bytes-MEMmemSystemCacheResidentBytes.
  • MEMmemCacheBytes parameter has been updated to be activated automatically after BMC PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System has been loaded on PATROL Agent. For more information about the parameter, see Cache-Bytes-MEMmemCacheBytes.
  • After applying the patch, you can add the override flag to override or ignore the MonitorManualService global configuration variable. This flag can be added at individual service instance level. You must add the flag at the tenth bit of the SvcConfigVars variable. To enable manual startup type service set the tenth bit to 1. To disable monitoring, disable the flag. For more information and example, see /ServiceMonitoring/ServiceList/ServiceName/SvcConfigVars configuration variable at  PATROL-KM-for-Microsoft-Windows-OS-configuration-variables

Downloading the patch and installation utility

This section provides the information that you need to download and install the patch from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

To download the patch and installation utility from the EPD website

  1. Create a directory in which to place the downloaded files.

    Note

On Windows computers, ensure that the directory is only one level into the directory structure. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image should not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.

  2. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html.
  3. At the logon prompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
  4. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
  5. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to see, per the EPD site help; otherwise, skip to step 6.
  6. Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose.
  7. You can download the installation utility and the product patch using either of the following methods:
Using Component View

  4. In the Version: list, select 9.5.00, and click Go.
