Windows KM Configuration


As a system administrator, configure the Windows KM Configuration in the Basic Health monitor profile to get information about the health and performance of the CPU in your Windows environment.
 

To configure CPU Information Performance

  1. In BMC Helix Operations Management, select Configuration > Monitor Policies > Create Policy.
  2. Click Add Monitoring Configuration.
  3. From the Monitoring Solution list, select Microsoft Windows Servers. 
  4. From the Monitor profile list, select Basic Health.
  5. From the Monitor type, select Windows KM Configuration
  6. Add the processor configuration as described in the following table:

Windows KM Configuration

Defines global settings for the Windows Knowledge Module to enable monitoring of Windows server components.

Annotation Configuration

Adds descriptive notes or tags to monitored entities for easier identification and reporting.

CPU Information Configuration

Configures monitoring of CPU-related metrics such as, utilization, idle time, and processor performance.

Expand to display the CPU Information Configuration details. 

Enable Annotation for 'Total processor information utilization'

Select the checkbox to enable annotations for overall processor utilization details for monitoring and reporting. 

CPU Information Threshold for Annotation (%)Specify the CPU Information threshold in % for generating the annotation. The annotation will display the top 10 processes that consume the highest CPU resources in the system. 
CPU Configuration

Defines settings for monitoring CPU metrics such as, utilization, load, and processor performance on Windows servers. 

Expand to display the CPU configuration details. 

Enable Annotation for 'Total processor utilization'Select the checkbox to activate annotations for the Total Processor Utilization metric in monitoring.
 
Memory Configuration

Defines the settings for monitoring memory metrics such as, usage, availability, and performance on Windows servers.

Enable Annotation for 'Memory usage'Select this checkbox to enable annotations for memory usage. 
Memory Threshold for Annotation (%)Specify the CPU Information threshold in % for generating the annotation. The annotation will display the top 10 processes that consume the highest memory resources in the system.
