Modifying WMI based parameters


To change the name or WMI query of a previously created WMI Wizard parameter, perform the following: 

  1. Access the WMI Wizard (NT_WMI) application menu as described in Accessing-KM-menu-commands.
  2. Choose the View/Edit WMI Query menu command to display the Please-choose-a-parameter-to-edit-dialog-box.
  3. Click the name of the parameter whose name or WMI query you want change.
  4. Click Next>.The Create-new-WMI-Parameter-dialog-box is displayed
  5. Change the parameter's name and/or the WMI query as needed.
  6. Click one of the following:

    • Next > to make sure that your SQL query returns valid numerical value.
    • < Back returns you to the previous dialog box the Please choose a parameter to edit..
    • Create to make sure you want to create a parameter it asks you YES or NO option. If yes, it creates the parameters according to the SQL Query you entered and closes the dialog box. If no, it cancels the modification of the parameter.
    • Help Opens online help.
  7. You will be prompted the Please-choose-a-parameter-to-edit-dialog-box, if you want to edit another parameter. Select parameter on the list to edit or you can click on done to finish modification of parameters.

Note

Another method of editing a parameter is by right clicking on the parameter instance KM command > Modify Parameter and following the same steps from Step 4.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
