Monitoring database mirroring


PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server automatically monitors mirroring functionality for any database which is configured for mirroring.

Important

Monitoring of mirroring functionality is possible only if Database Mirroring Monitor Job exists and if the SQL Server Agent is running.

The following monitor types are related to Microsoft SQL Server mirrored database feature:

Permissions

Login account which used for monitoring must be a member in the sysadmin fixed server role or in the dbm_monitor fixed database role in the msdb database.

Note

BMC PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server only detects and monitors mirrored databases functionality for monitored databases. (The database is not excluded from monitoring).
