SQL Server Error Log (Error Log)

An MSSQL_SERVER_ERRORLOG (Error Log) application is a functional application that provides specific parameters, menu commands, and InfoBox items pertaining to the SQL error log or SQL Agent error log that the instance represents. Error Log application instances are created for each SQL Server instance, one for the SQL Server Error Log and another for the SQL Agent Error Log, and the names SQLErrorLog and SQLAgentLog appear under those instances, respectively.

The SQL Agent Error Log appears only when SQL Agent monitoring is enabled. To enable SQL Agent monitoring, see Monitoring-SQL-Server-Agent. Also, you must have Monitor SQL Server Error log and Monitor SQL Server Agent Error log selected in the Monitoring Setup dialog box. To access the Error Log application instances, double-click the Server application icon.

Note

The SQL Server Error Log monitor type in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the Error Log application class in BMC PATROL.
