Using the Set Send to Names dialog box
The Set Send To Names dialog box enables you to send notification via net send, which is a Windows messaging service, whenever an alert occurs in one of the parameters effected by the ARA (automatic recovery action) function.
To receive net send messages, check the following:
- You must activate the Execute net send automated recovery action using the ARA Default Actions menu command.
- You must have the Windows Messenger service activated
- In the text box, enter the Windows login name or the computer name for each individual you want to notify whenever an alert occurs. When entering more than one login name, enter a comma after each login name. See your Windows Help (Select Start > Help) for more information about the net send Windows messaging service.
- Click Accept. When an alert occurs, the net send message displays on each recipient's computer screen in a message box.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
