Using the SQL Config Setup dialog box

The SQL Config Setup dialog box enables PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server to run without storing the sa password. After successfully adding a new user to the database, the sa password will not be stored in the pconfig file. However, that sa user name will be saved in the pconfig variable.
Use this dialog box to configure the SQL Config Setup dialog box.

  1. If your SQL Server is configured for mixed security, click either Standard or Integrated in the Security mode to use with this login field.
  2. Enter the user name for an account that PATROL will use to monitor your Microsoft SQL Server installation.
If you chose Integrated security in step 1, you must enter an account that is a valid Windows login account.
  3. To configure the login used by PATROL for SQL KM Monitoring, click Standard in the Security mode to use with this login field.
  4. Enter the user name for the PATROL account that PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server needs to monitor your Microsoft SQL Server installation.
If you chose Integrated security in step 1, you must use a PATROL account that is also a valid Windows login account.
  5. Enter and reenter the password for the PATROL account entered in step 4.
  6. To verify whether the accounts are correct, display a confirmation message, and keep the dialog box open, click Verify.
  7. To close the dialog box, click Done.
If the accounts are incorrect, a message is displayed and the dialog box stays open.
