Using the Change SQL Server Name Used by PATROL dialog box
The Change SQL Server Name Used by PATROL dialog box enables you to change the SQL Server name to an associated Windows SQL Server service name. The CheckConfiguration parameter directs you to use this feature when PATROL cannot connect to the SQL Server. To change the SQL Server name, see the following:
- Enter the name of the Windows SQL Server service name in the text box provided.
- The new name does not take effect until the PATROL Agent loads PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server.
- If PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server is configured to download with the PATROL Agent, you must break the connection to the PATROL Agent and reconnect to the PATROL Agent.
- If PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server is preloaded, you must stop and restart the PATROL Agent.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
