Collector and consumer parameter dependencies
- Deactivating a collector parameter automatically deactivates the consumer parameters that are dependent upon that collector for data. Some application classes, and their respective parameters, do not appear in the console unless you proactively configure that application for monitoring. See the topic for each individual application class for information about how to enable monitoring for each.
- If you deactivate a consumer parameter, the collector that sets the value for that consumer continues to gather and attempts to send data to that consumer. This involves only a small amount of processing, but if you decide that you want to deactivate an entire group of parameters, deactivating the collector that sets their values is more efficient.
- A few of the collector parameters do not set values for consumer parameters, but perform other tasks. Several parameters interact with and are dependent upon menu commands and application classes.
