Installing in a BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management environment


The BMC PATROL for Microsoft SQL Servers is a part of the base repository in the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management environment and is automatically imported when you install the base or extended repository in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management. You must then install the solution using BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration and then configure individual KMs.

Installing the solution

The following procedure describes how to install the The BMC PATROL for Microsoft SQL Servers using Central Monitoring Administration:

  1. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  2. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  3. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  4. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  5. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  6. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  7. Specify the directory where you would like your BMC Software products to be installed, or use the default BMC Software Products Installation directory and click Next > Next.
  8. Enter your PATROL default account password and confirm the password, click Next.
  9. Select one of the following Security option for your environment :
    • Advanced security options
    • Basic security (default)
  10. Enable Yes if you want to overwrite current security configuration (keys, certificates and trusted roots)?
  11. In the Installation Package Details window, the final summary is displayed.

  12. In the Installation Package Details window, verify that the operating system and platform are correct for the type of package that you want to create. Also verify that the components that you want to include are listed in the Included Components list.

  13. In the Installation Package Details window, provide the following information:

    • Name: Enter a unique name for the package.
    • (Optional) Description: Enter a description of the package.
       The description is displayed in the Monitoring Installation Packages list on the Deployable Package window.
    • Format: Select a file compression format for the package.
  14. Perform one or both of the following actions:

    • To save the package for future installation on the current host or other hosts, click Save Installation Package.
       The package is available in the Monitoring Installation Packages list.
    • To download the package, click Download.

      Warning

      Note

      If you click Download and do not click Save Installation Package, the package is not saved in the Monitoring Installation Packages list for later use or editing.

  15. When you are finished, click Close.

After installation solution or KM, you can configure it using Central Monitoring Administration.
