Changing the name of a SQL Server
PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server enables you to change the name of a SQL Server in the following ways:
- Changing the name or label that is displayed under the instance icon in PATROL for SQL Server without changing the name that PATROL uses for the SQL Server instance.
To change the icon label, choose KM Admin > Setup/Configure KM > Change Icon Label from the KM commands for the SQL Server application instance. For more information, see Using-the-Change-Icon-Name-dialog-box
- Changing the name PATROL uses for the SQL Server.
Changing the name that PATROL uses for a SQL Server enables you to change the SQL Server name to an associated Windows SQL Server service name.
To change the SQL Server name used by PATROL, choose KM Admin > Setup/Configure KM > SQL Server Name Used by PATROL from the KM commands for the SQL Server application instance.
