Parameters


This section gives you an overview on parameters of PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers.

The types of parameters of PATROL for Exchange Servers are as follows:

Inactive parameters

The following parameters are inactive on installation:

MSEXCH_DB_Private application class

The following parameters of the MSEXCH_DB_Private application class are inactive:

  • FreeDBSpaceAvailForDefrag
  • FreeDBSpaceAvailForDefragRpt
  • PercentFragmentation

MSEXCH_DB_Public application class

The following parameters of the MSEXCH_DB_Public application class are inactive:

  • FreeDBSpaceAvailForDefrag
  • FreeDBSpaceAvailForDefragRpt
  • PercentFragmentation

MSEXCH_Server_Health_Container application class

If the following parameter is inactive, you have not loaded the PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System. Exchange KM obtains the data for this parameter from the PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System application classes NT_PROCESS and NT_EVENTLOG.

  • DiskStatusRpt:

The following parameters are activated only if the PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System is installed and the NT_EVLOGFILESNT_EVENTLOG, and NT_EVINSTS application classes are loaded.

  • ServerCpuPct
  • ServerMemory

The following Exchange application class parameters are inactive:

  • EvtLogErrorCount
  • EvtLogWarningCount

If the following parameters are inactive, you have not loaded the PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System. Exchange KM obtains the data for these parameters from the PATROL KM for Microsoft Windows Operating System application classes NT_PROCESS and NT_EVENTLOG.

  • ServerCpuPct
  • ServerMemory
  • EvtLogErrorCount
  • EvtLogWarningCount

Parameter activation

PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers activates and deactivates certain parameters dynamically based on your environment. For example, if your Exchange environment consists of a front-end server, PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers deactivates parameters that collect and display information about the public and private databases. 

The following table lists the parameters that are activated and deactivated dynamically in PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers.
