External cluster-level agent architecture
The external CLA uses a three-tier architecture, as shown in the following figure, and has components that you install inside and outside of a cluster. The external CLA uses a cluster-level agent computer that resides outside the cluster to collect data from the cluster nodes in all of the clusters you monitor.
Although the external cluster-level agent can monitor one or more clusters, BMC recommends that you monitor no more than ten clusters from one cluster-level agent for performance reasons. A cluster can be monitored by only one cluster-level agent.
