Troubleshooting when events are not seen in TrueSight Operations Management


Here are the troubleshooting steps that you can perform if you are unable to see events in TrueSight Operations Management.

Identify if the issue is in PATROL for Log Management KM or TrueSight Operations Management

Generate the PATROL Agent events dump report and check if event exists in the report. If the event exists, the problem is that the event is not forwarded from PATROL Agent to TrueSight Operations Management as expected and troubleshooting needs to be done in TrueSight Operations Management.

TrueSight Operations Management infrastructure policy

  • Ensure that you set thresholds (Global or Custom Event handling configuration) for the search criteria.
  • Ensure that you are using the custom event (you have configured the Custom Event message).
  • Ensure that the provided regex is valid. If the regex is valid, you see the following line in the pmgreader debug logs: [countRegex] Match was found at offset [x].

PATROL for Event Management KM

Ensure that the PATROL for Event Management KM is installed on the same computer where the PATROL for Log Management KM is installed.
