PATROL for Linux provides a detailed view of all system activity over time so that you can detect problems, optimize systems, analyze trends, plan capacity, and manage multiple hosts simultaneously.

Administrator

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for Linux KM implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install and upgrade the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Ensure that the PATROL for Linux environment remains healthy over time, and uses the self-monitoring capabilities provided by the KM

End User

End Users of PATROL Linux can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user, Technology Specialist, and Solution Administrator.

They usually do not execute tasks on PATROL for Linux, but rather access and consume results of the KM, such as the system output generated by the agent actions or menu commands.

Support

Support of the PATROL for Linux KM are (internal or external) resources that can seek troubleshooting information about monitoring the KM.
