Configuring REV Manager Container

RHEV Manager Monitoring Configuration

JAVA_HOME

By default, BMC PATROL for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization uses Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is installed with the PATROL Agent. To use your own JRE that is installed in a different location, enter the path of the Java home directory.

For example, if your Java executable exists in the /usr/java/jdk1.8.0_45/jre/bin/java path, enter /usr/java/jdk1.8.0_45/jre in this field.

RHEV Manager Details

Host Name

Enter the name of the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.

User Name

Enter the name of the user required to access the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.

Password

Enter the password corresponding to the user name.

Domain

Enter the domain for the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.

Certificate Path

Enter the path for the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager certificate for server validation.

Note: The path must be an absolute path to the location where the certificate resides on the PATROL Agent. For example, /home/patrol/ca.crt.

Port

Enter the port number for the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.

Object Format

This option helps you to change the PATROL instance SID format. The default vale is UUID format.

If you select Label Based format, restart the PATROL Agent to apply the changes.

Note: History is not retained if you change this format.

Object Filtering Details

DataCenter

Enter the search criteria to filter data centers for monitoring. Wildcard characters are supported and regular expressions are not supported.

Cluster

Enter the search criteria to filter clusters for monitoring. Wildcard characters are supported and regular expressions are not supported.

Host

Enter the search criteria to filter hosts for monitoring. Wildcard characters and operators are supported and regular expressions are not supported.

Virtual Machine

Enter the search criteria to filter virtual machines for monitoring. Wildcard characters and operators are supported and regular expressions are not supported.

Filter out VM/Host without FQDN

If you want the hosts and virtual machines that do not have fully-qualified domain names (FQDNs) to be excluded from monitoring, select this check box.

If you do not select this check box, all hosts and VMs are monitored.
