Generate Report agent action


The Generate Report agent action generates reports of devices you are monitoring.

The ReportDefinition.txt file located at %PATROL_HOME%\PSM\Conf\Reports contains type of monitors and the monitor types related to those devices. The Generate Report agent action will generate report for devices based on the information collected by the monitor types. 

Information
Example

For generating report for a device under the monitor, OpenVMS with Process, Processor, Device, FileSystem, and System as monitor types, the ReportDefinition.txt file should contain the following value:

OpenVMS=Process,Processor,Device,FileSystem,System

The output is displayed as shown in the following figure

To access Generate Report agent action

  1. In the Operations Console, navigate to the Show Monitors page, in the Tools Menu column of the Root Container Network Devices (SNMP) monitor, click the blue wrench icon.
  2. Click Agent Actions > Report > Generating Report

    The Agent Action Input Form for Generate Report dialog box is displayed.
  3. Provide the following details to perform the SNMP operation utility for the network devices you configured:

Generate report

Save Configuration 

Enable this option to save the entire configuration details.

By enabling this option, you do not need to enter the configuration details every time you execute the Generate Report operation for network devices. It automatically takes the saved configuration details and will execute the operation. You can also change or edit only those configuration fields, which you want and then execute the operation.

All device

Enable this option to generate reports of all the devices you have configured.

Select devices

Enter the name of devices, separated by comma for which you want to generate the reports.

Select groups

Enter the group names, separated by comma under which the devices are categorized.

Execute

Click this button to generate the report.

Following is an example of the output generated for the device, vh-tlv-bppm-dv02.isr.bmc.com,which is under the monitor, OpenVMs with monitor type Process,Processor,Device,FileSystem,System .
