3.2.00 enhancements

This topic contains information about enhancements in version 3.2.00 of the PATROL for JBoss Application Server product and provides instructions for downloading the installation files.

Enhancements

Support for JBoss Application Server (WildFly) 9 and 10

PATROL for JBoss Application Server now supports WildFly 9 and 10, which was formerly known as JBoss Application Server.

Improved custom MBeans functionality

PATROL for JBoss Application Server now provides improved custom Mbeans functionality.

Included filter support

PATROL for JBoss Application Server now provides filter support in the TrueSight console.

Added l18n support

PATROL for JBoss Application Server now provides multi-language support.

Improved PSL Logging functionality

PATROL for JBoss Application Server provides improved PSL Logging functionality.

Downloading the installation utility and the product files

This section provides information for downloading PATROL for JBoss Application Server 3.2.00 from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

Note

If you have previously downloaded other BMC products, you might have an older version of the installation utility on your hard drive. BMC recommends that you use the latest version of installation utility. To download the latest version for this service pack, perform the following steps.

  1. Create a directory in which to place the downloaded files.

    Note

    On Windows computers, ensure that the directory is only one level into the directory structure. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image should not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.

  2. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html.
  3. At the logon prompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
  4. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, accept the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
  5. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to see, per the EPD site help; otherwise, skip to step 6.
  6. Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose.
  7. Download the installation utility and the product patch using either of the following methods:
Downloading using Component View
  1. In the Filter Products field, type PATROL Installation Utility.
  2. Click Go.

  3. In the right pane, click PATROL Installation Utility.

    Note

    Use PATROL Installation Utility 9.6.00 or later.

  4. In the Version list, select 10.5.00, and click Go.

  5. In the Products tab, based on the operating system, select the check box next to the files.

  6. To download the selected files, click one of the following options:
    • Download (FTP) places the selected items in an FTP directory; the credentials and FTP instructions are sent to you in an email message.
    • Download Manager enables you to download multiple files consecutively and to resume an interrupted download. This method requires a one-time installation of the Akamai NetSession client program on the target computer and is usually the faster and more reliable way to transfer files. A checksum operation is used to verify file integrity automatically.
  7. Click Close icon.png to close the window.
  8. In the Filter Products field, type PATROL for JBoss Application Server.
  9. Click Go.
  10. In the right pane, click PATROL for JBoss Application Server.
  11. From the Version list, select 3.2.00, and click Go.

  12. In the Product tab, based on the operating system, select the check box next to the files.

  13. To download the selected files, click Download (FTP) or Download Manager.
    • Download (FTP) places the selected items in an FTP directory, and the credentials and FTP instructions are sent to you in an email message.
    • Download Manager enables you to download multiple files consecutively and to resume an interrupted download. This method requires a one-time installation of the Akamai NetSession client program on the target computer and is usually the faster and more reliable way to transfer files. A checksum operation is used to verify file integrity automatically.
  14. Complete the installation procedure described in the Installing  section.
Downloading using Licensed Products View
  1. Click Go To Licensed Products View.
  2. Locate PATROL Installation and expand its entries to show the available version numbers. 

  3. Expand PATROL Installation Utility 10.5.00 to show the available files.

    Note

    Use PATROL Installation Utility 9.6.00 or later.

  4. Select the check box next to the files, based on the appropriate platforms.
