Monitoring security certificates

BMC PATROL for Internet Servers provides parameters that allow you to monitor SSL certificates on secure web server instances. These parameters check the certificate and each certificate in its chain every twelve hours to determine the time before a certificate expires. These parameters obtain their values from the certificate retrieved from the Web server.

• The certDaysLeft parameter indicates the number of days left until the certificate expires. If there is more than one component in the certificate chain, this parameter indicates the minimum number of days until one of the components expires. For details, see INET_Web_Server Application Class.
• The certChain parameter gives information about each component in the certificate chain. For details, see INET_Web_Server Application Class .
• The mainCertDaysLeft parameter indicates the number of days left until the server certificate expires. For details, see INET_Web_Server Application Class .
