Enabling automatic recovery
You can configure the Automatic Recovery function to allow BMC PATROL for Internet Servers to automatically restart a web server on the local host that becomes unresponsive. This feature is disabled by default .
- Right-click (Windows) or hold down MB3 (Unix) on the server instance.
The application menu is displayed. - For Unix systems, select the PATROL Admin KM command; then select Configure > Local from the menu.
For Windows systems, select KM Commands > PATROL Admin > Configure > Local.
The Configure dialog box is displayed for the specified server instance. - Select Automatic Recovery.
- For Unix systems, type the appropriate information in the OS Account field to ensure that BMC PATROL for Internet Servers has sufficient privileges to restart a monitored server instance.
For Windows systems, you do not need to enter OS account information. - Select Accept to save the entry and close the dialog box.
For Unix systems, you will then be prompted for the password for that user account.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
