Unloading a KM


For information about how to unload a KM from a particular console, click the appropriate link:

PATROL Central Operator – Windows Edition

PATROL Central Operator – Windows Edition has a wizard with which you can unload specified .km files from specified managed systems.

  1. In the Common Tasks tab of the taskpad, click the Unload Knowledge Modules icon. 
    PATROL displays the wizard.
  2. Click Next to start the wizard.  
    The wizard lists each managed system on which a PATROL Agent has been installed.
  3. Select the check boxes for the managed systems from which you want to unload .km files, and then click Next
    The wizard displays a list of application class names (that correspond to .km file names) for each managed system selected in the previous step. Each application class name is listed once for each managed system.
  4. Select the check boxes for the .km/managed system pair that you want to unload, and then click Next
  5. Click Finish
    The console removes the selected .km files from the current management profile. 
PATROL Console for Microsoft Windows

Unloading a KM is also referred to as deleting a KM in the PATROL Console for Microsoft Windows. 

  1. From the KM tab of the tree view, right-click the application class name that you want to delete and choose Delete from the pop-up menu. 
  2. In the dialog box that asks whether you want to delete the selected application, click Yes to delete the application class. 
    The application class is removed from your cache directory and your console session file.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have deleted all of the application classes associated with the KM that you want to delete.
  4. To save your changes, select File > Save KM from the console menu bar. 
PATROL Console for UNIX

Unloading a KM is also referred to as deleting a KM in the PATROL Console for UNIX.

  1. From the PATROL Main window, select Attributes > Application Classes
    The console displays the List of Application Classes window.
  2. Click the name of the application class that you want to delete. 
    The console highlights the application class name.
  3. From the List of Application Classes menu bar, select Edit > Delete
    The application class is removed from you cache directory and your console session file. The PATROL Console removes the application class name from the List of Application Classes.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have deleted all of the application classes associated with the KM.
  5. To save your changes, select File > Save KM from the List of Application Classes menu bar. 
PATROL Central Operator – Web Edition

PATROL Central Operator – Web Edition has a wizard with which you can unload specified .km files from specified managed systems. 

  1. In the Operator Home tab of the navigation area, click General Tasks
    PATROL displays the General Tasks page in the results area.
  2. Click Unload Knowledge Modules
    PATROL displays the Selecting Managed Systems window.
  3. Select the managed systems on which you want to unload KMs, and then click Next
    PATROL displays the Knowledge Modules window.

    Note

    To work with all the managed systems in the list, click Select All.

     

  4. Select the KMs that you want to unload. 
    To unload multiple KMs, hold down Ctrl and select multiple KMs, or hold down Shift and select all of the KMs in a range. You can also click Select All to select all available KMs.
  5. Click Next
    PATROL displays the Unloading Knowledge Modules Wizard Complete window.
  6. Click Finish.
