11.0.00.02: Fix Pack 2



The PATROL for IT Data Analytics 11.0.00.002 fix pack corrects issues reported in earlier versions of the product.

This topic includes instructions for downloading and installing the fix pack. 

BMC recommends that all users using PATROL for IT Data Analytics version 11.0.00, install this fix pack. In addition, it is recommended that you must install the fix pack available for IT Data Analytics version 11.0.00. 

Installing the Fix Pack 2 for PATROL for IT Data Analytics 11.0.00 consists of the following steps:

  1. Prepare for the installation of the Fix Pack.
  2. Install Fix Pack 2 (11.0.00.002) for PATROL for IT Data Analytics 11.0.00.

To apply Fix Pack 2, follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the Fix Pack

Download the Fix Pack from the FTP link.

The following table provides links to the page in the EPD website that contains the installation files for this product. Access to the EPD website requires that you provide your BMC Support credentials. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

Step 2: Install the Fix Pack on IT Data Analytics

Installing the Fix Pack

Before you begin

Ensure that version 1.8.0_102 of JRE is installed on the machines hosting PATROL for IT Data Analytics.

Complete the following steps before starting the patch installation:

  1. Stop the PATROL Agent.
  2. Back up the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  3. Delete all PATROL for Linux files from the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  4. Back up the PATROL_HOME/lib/knowledge and PATROL_HOME/lib/psl directories.

To install the PATROL for IT Data Analytics version 11.0.00 fix pack 2

If you are using PATROL Agent 11.0.00 and TrueSight Presentation Server 11.0.00

  1. Import the fix pack installation file that you downloaded as a single monitoring solution.

    For more information, see Importing a single monitoring solution.

  2. Create a deployable package for the IT Data Analytics component, for version 11.0.00.02 (containing the fix pack).

    For more information, see Creating-a-deployable-package.

    • While creating the deployable package, you do not need to provide the PATROL Agent related information.
    • After providing the package details, click Save to deploy and install the package in the next step.

  3. Deploy and install the package created to the PATROL Agents. For more information, see Deploying and installing packages to PATROL Agents.

If you are using PATROL Agent 10.7.00 and TrueSight Presentation Server 11.0.00

  1. Import the fix pack installation file that you downloaded as a single monitoring solution.
    For more information, see Importing a single monitoring solution.
  2. Create a deployable package for the IT Data Analytics component, for version 11.0.00.02 (containing the fix pack).
    For more information, see Creating-a-deployable-package.

    • While creating the deployable package, you do not need to provide the PATROL Agent related information.
    • After providing the package details, click click Save and Download. In the next step, you need to copy the downloaded package to silently install the fix pack.

  3. Install the fix pack by running the silent installation file available under the the bmc_products directory. The user permissions required for installing the fix pack are same as those used for installing the PATROL Agent.
