PATROL Agent configuration variables


You must set the following Agent configuration variables in the PATROL Agent to connect with the BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics product.

You can use either the pconfig utility or PATROL Configuration Manager to manage them.

/ConfigData/ITDA/ITDA/Collection-Agent-Name/

agent.name

Sets the name of the Collection Agent.

Note

Collection-Agent-Name is the value of this variable. The same value is used in the syntax of all the other variables.

payloadPort 

Provides the port number of the Payload Service used to connect with BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics.

The value of this variable must be the same as that which you provide at the time of installing the BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics product. While installing BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics, by default, the Payload Service port is set to 41414.

serverhost

Provides the host name of the computer where the Collection Station is installed.

serverport

Provides the port number of the Collection Station in the BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics product.

While installing the BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics product, by default, the Collection Station port is set to 8080.

collection.profile.name

Specifies the name of the collection profile that you want to associate with the Collection Agent for creating the data collector in BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics.

Setting this variable is optional.

options

Helps you change the default Java heap size for the Collection Agent configured. (default 128 MB)

You need to increase the default value when you find the Java Heap OutOfMemory error in the collection.log file located at %PATROL_HOME%\bww\udc\logs.
